Account creation, profile setup, and verification
Creating Your Account
To create a SubRanker member account, visit subranker.com/signup and create a contractor, subcontractor, or vendor account. Contractors and subcontractors enter the legal name of their registered business (LLC, corporation, or partnership), account owner details, and primary trade for verification. Vendors enter their supplier business details and complete their profile without the contractor business-record check. Public users can create a free account through the public signup path to hire contractors, post work, or create a talent profile.
Identity Verification
Contractor and subcontractor business verification confirms an active registration in the business's home state and matches the business's EIN (found in business records) to its legal name with the IRS. You do not need to upload anything to start. When we find your business but part of the check is still open (for example, the IRS cannot match your EIN or state records do not list you as an officer), your access starts right away while we confirm it: you have 14 days to upload the requested proof, such as your IRS EIN letter (CP-575 or 147C), and your business is not shown publicly until it is confirmed. If we cannot find your business in state records, our team reviews it by hand, which usually takes 1-2 business days. Membership requires a registered business; sole proprietors and individuals working under their own license cannot join as members. Vendor member accounts do not require business-record verification at this time and build trust through supplier profile completeness, insurance, and platform activity.
Setting Up Your Profile
Once verified or activated, complete your profile by adding your company logo, a detailed bio, your service area (city, state, ZIP code), and the trades you work in. A complete profile builds trust and helps potential clients find you. You can also add credentials and licenses for additional credibility.
Your Free Trial
After contractor/subcontractor verification or vendor activation, you receive a FREE 14-day full access trial. Use this time to explore reviews, pursue opportunities, list equipment, and connect with other professionals. No credit card is required to start your trial. Membership is priced per business location.
